The Real Impact of Competition on your Strategy

Strategic planning is a process of identifying the safe passage to profitability and success within an industry. It can be defensive, creating a new direction away from risk or disruption or to find protection via a niche away from competitive forces or it can be offensive to take advantage of a comparative advantage and gain market share whilst deterring competitors and new entrants.

Is the profitability of your industry expanding or contracting, what role does government play in this. What is happening to competitors, are they growing in number or consolidating. What is your position in the industry in respect to your competitors and customers and how can you impact these two groups.
